Capital Punishment

we don't use doctors or nurses because of the Hippocratic Oath, that being the oaf that any doctor gives to preserve life

doctor chapman's lethal injection was adapted from a standard surgical procedure, it uses 3 drugs. 1st drug, Sodium thiopental, used to induce consciousness for the introduction of anesthesia. 2nd drug, pancuronium bromide,a musular paraletic agent, this was used in surgery so the muscles do not react as the procedure is done. the 3rd drug, potassium chloride, induces cardiac arest

some technicians incorrectly do it. a lack of expertise may not be the only source of pain, potassium chloride can also be highly painful, excruciating. some argue that most inmates can feel the potassium chloride go through their system, and suffer before their heart is stopped

"short drop hanging" was the standard for of execution until the late 19th century. prisoners were droped from a very short height and was slowly strangled to death. but the british designed the method to be more humane. the method looked to deliver an instantaneous and humane death by completing the hangmans fracture. the classic hangman's fracture happens between the 2nd and 3rd cervical vertebra. this will damage your spinal cord and brain stem, when the brain stem is damaged your heartbeat and breathing.

the ropes length, the hangmans weight, muscle and neck size, are all factors

different countries uses different tables (height/weight chart) for the hanging. even in the 21st century, we are still unable to provide a full proof table. there are too many variables. the perfect table has yet to be devised.
at the end of the 19th century, a revolution in technological development was vital to the creation of the iconic symbol of execution, the electric chair.

thomas edison, the father of electircity, was in a battle with rival george withinhouse for control of the emerging electrical utility industry. edison wanted to show the world that his rival's system based on an alternating current was a danger to the public and the prove it he electcuted a circus elephant. next, edison got his researchers to develop an electric chair using wistinghams ac system, and recommended it be used to kill criminals, and thus, the electric chair was born.

despite its on-going use, there is no clear scientific study on the electrcution effect on the prisoner

in a typical chair, the prisoner is connected in three places, head and two clamps around the calves

the electric chair is a cruel and unsual punishment, and is tantamount to torture.

the use of cyanide gas as a killing agent was pioneered on the battlefield during the 1st world war, it was then used by the nazi's as part of their genocide program. it remains available in five states in america. sometimes before executions, the gas chamber is tested using an animal subject. acid is placed under the chair, at an assigned moment, the executioner drops cyanide pelletsinto the acid releasing hydrogen cycnide gas, the subject dies by asphyxiation.

pain during the gas chamber execution: feels like the combined pain from a heart attack, brain seizures, and asphyxiation at the same time

hypoxia
altitude training chamber.
hypoxia seems to be the perfect way to die
